Title: Intermediate Truss Designer

Location: Stouffville and Barrie office - We are hiring for both the office locations!

Department: Truss Design Department

Salary: Based on Experience

Hours of operation: Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., on premises. Occasionally paid over-time is required to meet deadlines

Job Overview:

Working in an energetic; fast paced environment, your focus will be creating accurate engineering and cut ready roof layouts for residential or commercial buildings using digital drawings and 3-D drafting software. 

You will demonstrate high level critical thinking and organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new or different processes.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Developing accurate and truss layout designs using MiTek SAPPHIRE software.

· Creating accurate structural component designs for engineers to seal and production to manufacture. Optimized to Alpa Roof Trusses standards.

· Communicating and cooperatively working between departments to coordinate projects. 

· Providing mentoring and training for junior designers. 

· Communication with architects and engineers and sales team to identify specific additional details and information required to complete accurate designs.

· Interpret construction plans, builder communications and apply this information to quote and production files.

· Performs other duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

· 4 years of Ontario truss design experience

· MiTek SAPPHIRE and Management software experience is a preferred asset.

· Advanced knowledge of Ontario Building Code is required.

· Advanced knowledge of TPIC required.

· Extremely detailed and accurate.

· Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

· Understanding the importance of work ownership.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent professional work ethic

· Must have a positive attitude and be a team player to support the team with demands and deadlines.

· Have a creative mindset and be able to think outside of the box.
